Hormel honors 10 under 20 Food Heroes – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News) – Hormel Foods on Monday honored 10 young ambassadors for food justice as Hormel “10 Under 20” Food Heroes 2024.

The award winners visited and toured Hormel’s headquarters in Austin and had a panel discussion with Jeff Baker, vice president of the Hormel Group, who said, “They decided to put their efforts and their work into something. And I challenge everyone here. They are proving that you can make a difference no matter what age you are.”

The honorees are a dynamic group of young changemakers from across the country. According to a Hormel press release, they were selected as “individuals who are passionate about addressing food insecurity, whether by pioneering projects to feed communities in need or volunteering for other organizations.”

This year’s awards went to:

  • Aakash Suresh (Miami, Florida)
  • Bella Eberhart (Wellington, Florida)
  • Colin Chu (Palo Alto, California)
  • Elaina Johnson (Broomfield, Colo.)
  • Emma Falkenmeyer (Sherrill, New York)
  • Lauren Schroeder (Dixon, Iowa)
  • Natalie Deitz (Abingdon, Maryland)
  • Samantha Sandhaus (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
  • Skai Nzeuton & Will Nzeuton (New York City, New York)
  • Steven Hoffen (New York City, New York)

Shreyaa Venkat and Esha Venkat from Virginia were also honored as Food Hero Ambassadors.
