Houston police are looking for three suspects in connection with the fatal shooting at the Gulfton food truck at the corner of Chimney Rock and Elm Street

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Authorities are searching for three suspects in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday night in southwest Houston.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in front of a food truck in the parking lot of a gas station at the corner of Chimney Rock and Elm Street in the Gulfton neighborhood, Houston police said.

Officers reported that three men approached a food truck and demanded $20. A man waiting next to the food truck said he was going to get the money, but police say he went into nearby apartments and returned with a gun, which he pointed at the three men.

The men then allegedly shot the man and fled the scene.

One employee said her mother was cooking in the truck when she heard the gunshots.

“She became frightened and fell to the ground,” the woman said.

Alejandro Mendoza Garcia said the victim was his friend.

He said he could never forgive the suspects, but he hoped “God could.”

Mendoza Garcia describes his friend as someone who always helped others, as a father and as a hard worker.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage of the incident. Houston Police Chief James Dale said a suspect may have been identified on the video.

So far, no arrests have been made.
