How to bet on Leicester City vs Tottenham: Spurs Road favourites in Leicester

Leicester City and Tottenham face off in an exciting Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium on Monday, August 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

Leicester won the 2023–24 championship, returning to the Premier League after an 18th-place finish in the 2022–23 season led to relegation.

Tottenham enter the 2024–25 season with high expectations after manager Ange Postecoglou helped Spurs improve from an eighth-place finish in the Premier League in the 2022–23 season to fifth place last year, just two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Betting analysis for the game Leicester City vs Tottenham

There is little to be said when comparing a newly promoted side like Leicester with a team like Tottenham, who are expected to fight for a place in the top four this season.

Leicester, who played in the Premier League from 14/15 to 22/23, are not a typical newly promoted team. Nevertheless, Leicester faces an uphill battle against an opponent like Tottenham (according to Transfermarkt, Leicester’s squad is worth just over €200 million, while Monday’s opponents boast a squad worth €816.7 million).

Tottenham have spent heavily this summer, signing several potential starters, including Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke and 18-year-old Archie Gray.

The former is coming off a 19-goal season for Bournemouth last year. Gray is unlikely to be a regular starter at Tottenham initially, but he looks like a future Premier League star after starting 40 games in the 2023/24 season in his 17th season for Championship club Leeds United, who finished third in the league and almost clinched promotion.

With Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Solanke, Tottenham should have no trouble scoring goals this season, especially given the talent of attacking midfielder James Maddison (nine assists in the 2023/24 season), who is known for creating good chances for Tottenham’s strikers.

Leicester City vs. Tottenham – the best tips

Tottenham should have no trouble scoring goals against an opponent who was in the Championship a year ago and lost both their manager Enzo Maresca and their best player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea this summer.

Even if Leicester manage to keep the game exciting early on, expect Solanke, Son and Co. to give Tottenham some breathing room at some point in the second half. Leicester City manager Steve Cooper appears to have a long season ahead of him, starting with Monday’s opener against a talented opponent with legitimate hopes.

forecast: Leicester City 0, Tottenham 2
