And their ethos has quickly caught on with all of Jennifer Lopez To Jimmy Fallon To Olivia Rodrigo picked up on the trend of the last few days.

But there’s one key area that Lebron hasn’t tackled yet: interior design. So we asked a number of interior design experts to give us some brilliant tips on how to give your home a “conscious, cute” makeover just in time for “male fall.”

“Balanced quality”

Even though the considerate and tranquil establishment has been given a new, memorable label, the concept is by no means new.

Designer Vicente Wolfof Vicente Wolf Associates, says he has long used this particular philosophy and framework for his own design aesthetic.

“I try to design my rooms in such a way that they never seem disturbing and offer a balanced quality – they are the opposite of Kardashian’s”, he jokes.

Want to be conscious and understated at home? Here’s more about the trend, as well as a few tips on how to bring the look into your space.

What does “modest” decor mean?

Simple, clean and balanced are some of the hallmarks of a restrained and mindful interior, says Ariel BarrionuevoDesigner and Manager at La Coralina Island House.

“Demure’s design philosophy is about creating a space that whispers rather than screams. It’s less about specific colors or shapes and more about the balance of subtle details that evoke grace without drawing attention,” he explains.

This trend looks feminine and sweet, but shouldn’t be too sugary or over the top, notes Wolf.

When it comes to artwork, for example, “obvious bouquets of flowers, children running across a field, or a small puppy are the opposite of what makes a room seem demure. They are too intrusive and lack subtlety,” he says.

Create a reserved domain

Wolf advises homeowners to aim for a simple sleeping area.

“The color palette in the bedroom should make the skin blush. I like to work with neutral colors and combine them with muted silver tones,” he says.

In this master bedroom (above), Wolf created a “cocoon-like atmosphere with a recessed headboard that also includes reading lamps.”

The “attentive, reserved” backstory

Lebron has posted plenty of videos with her catchphrase, but when it comes to the home, the mindful, understated look has firm roots in other decor trends. And the wild way design trends come and go is definitely part of the fun.

For example, the instant popularity of “humiliation” is similar to that of “unexpected red” on TikTok, a microtrend from just a few months ago.

And red probably became famous back then as a reaction to so much Pink during last summer’s “Barbiecore” affair.

But thanks to the fun and flirtatious decor inspired by the Netflix series “Bridgerton”, a pink, calmer, indeed reservedapproach to interior design came back into fashion.

Soft light has a restrained effect

No overhead lighting – ever – in a considerate, cute room.

“This is not a hospital,” says one decor enthusiast in the Instagram clip above.

The clip notes that the space is “very considerate and attentive to my guests,” with candlelight (very subtle!) and small table lamps so as not to overdo it or overwhelm the atmosphere.

Wolf agrees, adding that he often chooses pink bulbs to achieve the same flattering type of light. Other types of thoughtful lighting include task lamps and well-placed wall sconces.

Secondhand pieces are mindful

Fast furniture is in no way environmentally conscious – think of the earth, people! But buying secondhand pieces definitely fits that theme.

Barrionuevo encourages people to “design spaces to reflect who you are, not just in the objects you put in them, but in the way you arrange them.”

Simple and clear

When it comes to this topic, tidy rooms are a given, but your look doesn’t have to be minimalist, say the experts.

“Of course, you put away clothes and clear clutter, but there are other strategies to maintain a peaceful, mindful atmosphere that appeal to the senses in a calming way,” says Wolf.

The benefit of a simple layout is to “create space for clarity and focus, where your favorite pieces take on new meaning and become more than just things – they become experiences,” adds Barrionuevo.

Well-placed plants

A good idea would be to try plants, as they “add life to a room,” advises Wolf.

Flowers look cheerful and smell good (scented candles do, too), he adds. “And fresh fruit in a bowl conveys a sense of generosity.”
