On Sunday afternoon, the Patriots will play their season opener against the Bengals. It will be a tough game for the team that is regrouping under new head coach Jerod Mayo. It’s the first of many games on New England’s schedule that will be anything but easy. It’s a situation that no team that wants to improve wants to deal with.
Fortunately, the Patriots could hold off a few injured Bengals players, most notably Tee Higgins, who is questionable for this game. Ja’Marr Chase’s status is also uncertain, as he is still working toward a contract extension and may not play until he gets paid.
This could benefit the Patriots and give their defense an extra boost, but it could also prevent quarterback Joe Burrow from making history with his performance.
The signal-caller is expected to be the next quarterback, just three touchdowns away from tying Justin Herbert for fourth place as the fastest quarterback in league history to reach 100 touchdowns. With him missing a few starters, that could be a lot harder to accomplish, which is excellent motivation for a defense looking to prove it’s better than the current narrative.
This is a must-see game, and even if you’re not in New England to watch it on TV, there are a few ways to still catch the action.
