Israeli naval forces reported a possible drone sighting off the Mediterranean coast near Caesarea on Friday, raising fears that it was a possible Hezbollah surveillance attempt against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s nearby beach house.

An Israeli Navy missile boat patrolling off the coast of Caesarea reported a suspicious aircraft reportedly hovering nearby. Officials initially suspected it could be a Hezbollah-launched reconnaissance drone, possibly attempting to capture footage of Netanyahu’s seaside residence for later release.

The ship’s radar system detected the unidentified aircraft, but other surveillance devices could not confirm its presence. In response, the Israeli Air Force sent fighter jets to the area, but they also failed to locate a drone. Therefore, Israeli sources believe the incident was likely a false alarm, as radar systems occasionally falsely identify flocks of birds or other objects as potential threats.

Despite the lack of visual confirmation, military and air force officials do not completely rule out the possibility of a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launched from Lebanon. Sources confirmed that Netanyahu was not at the residence during the reported incident. When asked, the Prime Minister’s Office issued a brief statement: “It was determined that it was a false alarm.”
