SEAN O’MALLEY has defended his open marriage, which caused divided opinions among boxing fans.
The UFC bantamweight champion has been open about his relationship with wife Danya Gonzalez in recent years.
But O’Malley’s unconventional Wedding has been met with displeasure by many people and several fans have voiced criticism on social media.
It even angered former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort, who O’Malley said threatened to kick his ass in a direct message on social media.
However, the unconventional and dazzling O’Malley cares little about the opinion of his Belfort and his critics.
During an episode of the TimboSugarShow: “I want to work with Danny, so we have certain boundaries and things that can and cannot be done.
“Because I want it to work… everything is fine right now.”
O’Malley, 29, believes the concept of a conventional marriage with 100 percent monogamy is outdated.
He said: “When marriage was first introduced, people’s life expectancy was 21 years.”
“It was so damn low, it was rare.

“So they were only married for a few years. Today there are people who have been married for 40, 50, 60 years.”
O’Malley insists the open aspect of his relationship with Gonzalez does not mean that he loves her any less than a husband in a traditional marriage.
“I’m a king,” the crowd favorite said last year. “I pay for everything. I treat Danny like a queen.”
“If I get a little bit screwed over along the way, what does that have to do with anything?
“Testosterone flows through my veins – it’s that damn simple.
“I wouldn’t say that if I were in the opposite situation, if I didn’t pay for everything, if I wasn’t successful.
“If I were an average guy, that probably wouldn’t be fair. But I feel like I’m King fucking Kong.”
Gonzalez has been by O’Malley’s side every step of his UFC journey, which continues into the early hours of Sunday morning.
