Following his release from prison in the wake of the Burning Sun scandal, Seungri has denied rumors that he will attend an event in Indonesia later this month called Burning Sun Surabaya, calling the reports “baseless.” Despite his denial, recent reports suggest that he was spotted at a club in Indonesia.

According to a report by Maeil Business newspaper on August 12, Seungri was seen several times at S Club, a beachfront venue in Bali, on August 10. Bali is about 300 kilometers from Surabaya in East Java, a distance that takes about 50 minutes by plane.

In a video obtained by the news outlet, Seungri is seen talking to one or two women who appear to be Korean. At one point, one of the women asks: “Will Seunghyun Oppa (Seungri’s real name) buy it for us?” to which Seungri replies: “I will buy it, I will buy it.”

In addition, one of Seungri’s companions reportedly invited other Korean tourists to join them at their accommodation, saying: “Our place is only 5 minutes away, let’s have fun together.”

On August 11, it was reported that event management company TSV Management announced on Instagram that they would host an event titled “Burning Sun Surabaya” on the 31st, with Seungri appearing as a special guest.

In response, Seungri told a media outlet: “I want to keep my mouth shut, but people keep bringing me up, so I have to set the record straight. I don’t even know where the place in Indonesia mentioned in the article is, and I don’t plan on attending a club event on August 31st.” and thus effectively denies the reports.
