PHILADELPHIA – Two well-known former Democrats who are now supporting Donald Trump as independents will be in the Spin Room at Tuesday night’s debate between the former president and Vice President Kamala Harris to praise Trump’s performance.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the well-known environmental activist and vaccine skeptic who suspended his own presidential campaign last month and endorsed Trump, will be present at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, the Trump team confirmed to Fox News.

The same goes for former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 before leaving the party and becoming an independent two years ago.

Joining Kennedy and Gabbard in the spin room for the debate – the first and possibly only face-to-face confrontation between Harris and Trump before Election Day on November 5 – is a group of senior Republicans.

At the top of the list is Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance of Ohio.

The same goes for Trump’s former rivals in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination who now served as surrogates: Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Other top surrogates in the spin room will include Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott of Florida and Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Representatives Byron Donalds and Matt Gaetz of Florida and Mike Waltz of Texas, and Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota.

The news about Trump’s spin room surrogates was first reported by Politico.

The Harris team announced that two veterans of the Trump White House – former communications director Anthony Scaramucci and then-Vice President Mike Pence’s former homeland security adviser – will represent the vice president in the spin room.

The Harris team also confirmed to Fox News that Governors Gavin Newsom of California, Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, Roy Cooper of North Carolina and Lujan Grisham of New Mexico will represent the vice president in the spin room.
