The food scene in Massachusetts just got a little bigger.

Patidar, a New Jersey-based supermarket chain specializing in Indian food, is opening a new store in Woburn, the Boston Business Journal reported.

The company currently has three stores in New Jersey. On its website, Patidar states that it is the largest Indian grocery store in the state.

The Massachusetts location will be the family-owned chain’s first location in New England. The New Jersey locations will offer fruits, vegetables, frozen Indian foods, Indian snacks, rice and jasmine, according to My Central Jersey.

Indian grocery store Patidar is reportedly set to open in Woburn Plaza

According to the Boston Business Journal, Indian grocery store Patidar will open a location in Woburn at 114 Commerce Way.

The store will open at the former Bob’s Discount Furniture location, which is over 25,000 square feet.

The property is located in a plaza next to a PetSmart and a Chipotle and is close to the Anderson MBTA commuter rail and Amtrak station.

When will Patidar open in Woburn?

Indian grocery store Patidar plans to open in late spring or early summer 2025, according to the Boston Business Journal.

Patidar did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication.
