Here’s a look at how crime rates have trended across the U.S. Violent crime rates remained stable or decreased in 66% of states. Fifteen states saw a year-over-year increase in violent crime. Property crime rates remained stable or decreased in 64% of states—despite a nationwide increase. 16 states saw an increase in property crime rates. Nine states saw both violent and property crime rates increase year-over-year.
