Investigation underway into death of St. George woman in Arches National Park

Authorities are investigating after National Park Service rangers responded to a report that someone was performing CPR in Arches National Park.

The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon on the park’s popular Delicate Arch Trail, where life-saving measures were performed on a 58-year-old woman, according to a brief statement from the NPS, which is reproduced in full at the end of the article.

At the time this article was last updated, the woman’s identity had not been publicly disclosed.

According to NPS, Arches park rangers, Grand County sheriff’s deputies, Grand County EMS and Classic Air Medical arrived at the scene.

“Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful,” the park service said.

The woman’s death was confirmed at the crime scene.
