Apple unveiled the next version of the company’s iPhone operating system, iOS 18, at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Since announcing iOS 18, the Cupertino-based company has released several beta versions, including a public beta in July.
The betas introduced several new features, including an improved Notes app, distraction control in Safari, and a reconfigured Photos app.
However, for those who do not want to participate in the beta and are waiting for the full, official iOS 18, the crucial question is when Apple will release the update to the general public.
Based on previous releases, we expect Apple to launch iOS 18 within a week of the company’s Glowtime event on September 9, where the company is expected to unveil the new iPhone 16 lineup, the Apple Watch 10 and Watch Ultra 3, and at least two new AirPods.

When Apple releases iOS 18, it will be supported on many devices. However, not every iPhone will get the new iOS 18 features. One important one would be Apple Intelligence, which will only be available on the iPhone 16 series and the current iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
When will Apple release iOS 18?
Apple does not usually announce when the latest iOS updates will be released.
However, in recent years, the company has generally released its iOS updates within seven days of the iPhone event. For the past three years, the latest iOS version has been released within six days of the iPhone event.
Since Apple has postponed the release of this year’s iPhone 16 from its usual Tuesday date to a Monday, we can expect iOS 18 to be released later this week.
You’ll likely see iOS 18 on supported iPhones on Monday, September 16. If they get impatient and release it sooner, we might see it on Friday, September 13, although that’s an ominous date. So we’ll stick with Monday.
