Apple will unveil its latest iPhone lineup along with other new products at its Apple Event on Monday.

The September event, with the slogan “It’s Glowtime,” is rumored to be about the Silicon Valley giant’s flagship phone, which may feature artificial intelligence and an improved camera.

Apple observers also suspect that the Apple Watch and Airpods will soon receive an upgrade.

The Apple event begins at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT on Monday and will be streamed on the company’s website and YouTube channel.

Rumor has it that the following will be revealed at Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event

iPhone 16 and 16 Plus

Apple’s most anticipated headline on Monday is the new iPhone 16 series.

The main upgrade rumored to be included in the iPhone 16 is a new A18 chip with 8GB of RAM to enable support for Apple Intelligence, the company’s artificial intelligence software.

9to5Mac reported in March that the new chip was designed to support artificial intelligence on devices.

According to MacRumors, the new models will get an action button that replaces the iPhone 15’s mute switch, which was previously integrated into the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

The iPhone 16’s cameras will likely switch from the diagonal orientation of the iPhone 15 to the vertical layout of the last-generation Pro models. According to 9to5Mac, the change is intended to support spatial video recording.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted on social media site X that the company will release the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus in black, green, pink, blue and white.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max

The premium iPhone is said to have larger screens and a solution to the heat management problems of the previous model.

MacRumors reported that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max’s displays would be 0.2 inches larger than the equivalent iPhone 15 model, at 6.3 and 6.9 inches respectively. The site hinted that the phones would be slightly larger than their predecessors.

9to5Mac reports that the iPhone 16 Pro could potentially have the same 5x zoom tetraprism camera that is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The model could be the first to be able to record video in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second.

An additional “record button” could be added to the top row, which opens and operates the phone’s camera. 9to5Mac reported that the button could appear on all models, while MacRumors suggested it could be a Pro and Pro Max exclusive feature.

A leaked photo from Apple observer Kotusami Ito posted by X in November showed a prototype of the battery case that could be used in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max to avoid overheating issues that plagued the iPhone 15 Pro. The case would use a metal cover instead of a sheet metal cover.

Kuo predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be available in black, white or silver, gray and rose.

AirPods 4

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in November that the company was planning to overhaul its wireless earbud lineup, and 9to5Mac said the results of that restructuring were expected on Monday.

The company will stop producing the Airpods 2 and Airpods 3 and consolidate the entry-level and mid-range wearables under the name Airpods 4.

The entry-level AirPods will likely not have noise cancellation, while the mid-range models will. 9to5Mac reports that there will be no changes to the AirPods Pro until 2025.

Apple Watch

An upgrade is planned for all Apple watch products on Monday.

Series 10

The company is apparently close to announcing the Apple Watch Series 10. Notable changes include larger case sizes (45mm and 49mm) and larger screens, according to 9to5Mac.

IT

Gurman reported in his Power on newsletter that the latest Apple Watch SE could swap its aluminum case for one made of “hard plastic.” The company switched the case back of the entry-level smartwatch from ceramic to a nylon composite material in 2022.

Ultra3

There are hardly any rumors about the Ultra 3, but 9to5Mac said that the watch could receive a new chip but no hardware updates.

iOS 18 update schedule

USA TODAY had previously reported that the event would likely unveil the release schedule for iOS 18.

The operating system was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, where Apple showed that the system would integrate Apple Intelligence.
