Is Michelin-starred restaurant Nobu coming to the Palm Beach area?

Is Michelin-starred restaurant Nobu coming to the Palm Beach area?

Could the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Manalapan be the next home of a Nobu restaurant?

Finally, not only has the prospect of a Nobu restaurant in or near Palm Beach contributed to the local dining buzz, but the new owner of the Eau Palm Beach resort, Oracle software billionaire Larry Ellison – who bought the luxury property earlier this month for over $277 million – has been incorporating Nobu into resorts he owns elsewhere.

Ellison clearly has a fondness for Nobu, a Michelin-starred restaurant chain known for its inventive flavor combinations and high-quality seafood, which its followers, including many celebrities, rave about.

Some of Ellison’s resorts, such as Porcupine Creek in Rancho Mirage, California, and the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii – which he purchased in 2011 and 2012 respectively – have become coveted Nobu locations, featuring dining experiences in partnership with Nobu’s famed Japanese chef, Nobu Matsuihisa.

Other Ellison properties in California have also been linked to Nobu. Is this part of a larger vision for Ellison?

In 2018, he co-founded Sensei, which was incorporated into the name of the resorts he owns.

Sensei “applies data-driven health knowledge and leverages technology to create world-class wellness resorts in Hawaii and California that promote preventive care and a healthy lifestyle,” says Sensei’s website, www.sensei.com.

According to Eau’s sale announcement, Ellison plans to make “improvements” to the resort, but details have not been disclosed.

But could Nobu be coming? Eau officials told the Daily News on Thursday that there are currently “no plans” to change the resort’s dining options.

These establishments include Polpo, the seaside Italian sister restaurant to Polpo in Greenwich, Connecticut, and the Angle, an upscale seafood steakhouse that features, among other things, a bottom-lit communal table made of onyx and amber.
