Italian international Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to miss Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Brest due to the birth of his partner’s son.

L’Equipe noted that the goalkeeper was not at the training center today and questioned coach Luis Enrique about his absence during a press conference.

“The big news is the birth of Leo. Another Parisian! We gave him the day off so he could enjoy the moment. As for whether he’ll be in the starting eleven tomorrow, I prefer to tell my players first who’s in the starting eleven and who’s on the bench.”

Congratulations are therefore in order for the 25-year-old and his partner Alessia, who will become a father for the first time just a few days after winning two Nations League matches for Italy.

Donnarumma is convinced of his role at PSG

While Donnarumma was on the pitch during the first few years of his tenure at PSG, this is the first season in which he is the undisputed first choice.

He was also promoted to vice-captain, one of several behind Marquinhos.

Tomorrow’s Ligue 1 match against Brest could therefore be the debut for summer signing Matvey Safonov, who came from Krasnodar for 20 million euros and is keen to prove himself as a serious challenger to the Italian.
