We pride ourselves on our accurate estimates of major Amazon sales like Prime Day, but guessing the date of the next one is no longer necessary – Amazon has officially confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days are returning this October. While we don’t have an exact date yet, last year’s Big Deal Days sale began at midnight on October 10, and the corresponding 2022 sale began on October 11. So it’s pretty safe to assume that Prime Big Deal Days 2024 will also begin in the second week of October. If they start on Tuesday, that would be October 8, 2024.
Prime Big Deal Days take place in 19 countries – Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. However, not all countries benefit equally.
Unlike Prime Day, which saw six days of deals in Australia and only two in the US, we expect the same 48-hour sale in both countries. However, we expect a longer sale in some countries, such as Australia and Singapore – typically around 65 hours based on past events – as customers there can access deals from international stores such as the US, UK and Japan.
While Amazon-branded products like Kindle, Ring and Echo speakers—which feature prominently in our guides to the best e-readers, best video doorbells, best security cameras and best smart speakers—are sure to see big price cuts, experience leads us to believe there will be many more.
Amazon Prime Day in July saw Nintendo, Sony, Bose, Sennheiser, Samsung, Apple and Dyson offer massive discounts on a wide range of products, including games consoles, smartwatches and the best headphones, stick vacuums and cheap phones. While we expect a similar result in October, there are no concrete details yet.
We’re also keeping our fingers crossed that there will be discounts on Amazon’s premium services. We’ve previously seen add-on subscriptions to services like Audible, Kindle Unlimited and Prime Video discounted in Prime sales, and with Paramount Plus increasing prices this year, any savings here would be welcome.
