Jenn Tran from Bachelorette warns fans about ‘cyberbullying’ by Devin Strader

Jenn Tran knows that hate is never the answer.

In a now deleted Instagram Stories post, the Bachelorette The star advised her fans not to “cyberbully” her ex-fiancé Devin Strader after she revealed on the “After the Final Rose” special that he broke off their engagement during a 15-minute phone call.

“Tonight was rough. I am so overwhelmed by the love you all have given me. With every message of love, I want to say loud and clear that I do not condone hate messages directed at anyone,” she shared, apparently referring to Strader. “There is no need to rub salt in the wound and if you truly support me, you will understand that I lead with love and empathy.”

“I don’t believe in spreading negative energy,” she continued. “People can be held accountable for their own actions without cyberbullying. The universe will take care of everything.”

Tran said she felt the online hate she had to endure after her casting was announced.

“Words hurt and I have been in the direct line of fire because of this and I know how that feels,” she wrote. “I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, no matter what.”

Tran said she is on the road to recovery after splitting from Strader, adding, “I’m going to be OK, but spreading hate or causing direct harm to anyone else is not going to help me on my road to recovery.”

During the special “After the Final Rose,” Tran said Starder’s feelings changed almost instantly.

“As soon as we left Hawaii, everything was different,” she told host Jesse Palmer. “It felt like he was taking back all the promises he had made to me – that he wanted to move somewhere together, that he wanted to have the future planned, that he wanted to see each other all the time.”

She announced that Strader later broke off the engagement in a 15-minute phone call.

When Palmer later asked Tran what her last words to Strader should be, she knew exactly what she would say.

“I hope you learn that the weight of your words counts and that if you promise something, you should be able to keep that promise,” she said. “I simply could not have done what you did in that position. And when I love something, I cherish it and don’t throw it away the next day.”

During an interview on Good morning America On September 4, Tran said she was ready to “move on with my life” after the couple’s split – including participating in the upcoming season of Dancing with the starsin which she will work with professional dancer Sasha Farber.
