Jenn Tran was taken by surprise by Devin Strader’s actions after filming The Bachelorettebut she was not surprised by his performance at After the last rose.
“That’s just how he was after the breakup,” said 26-year-old Jenn We weekly exclusively on Wednesday, September 4, following the Dancing with the stars Cast announcement on Good morning America about Devin’s relaxed attitude to the breakup. “I didn’t expect anything else. He wasn’t returning my calls and so on, so I didn’t think he would get emotional.”
Devin, 28, was criticized by his fans for showing no remorse during the live finale on Tuesday, September 3, after Jenn revealed to him over the phone that he had broken up with her about a month ago.
Fans were also saddened to see Jenn crying as she rewatched her proposal – during which she decided to propose to him. “I know you haven’t seen it yet. What do you think? Should we all watch it together?” the host said. Jesse Palmer asked Jenn and Devin. She replied, “Do I have a choice?”
Jenn told Us that she “knew” the proposal was going to air and she wanted Devin to see it. “There were no surprises. They knew it was going to be a very emotional night for me, so I knew it was going to happen and honestly, I wanted him to watch it again, too,” Jenn explained.
According to the lead actor, things were also unpleasant during the commercial breaks.

Disney/John Fleenor“I didn’t really look at him that much. I was in my own mood and he was like, ‘Why aren’t you looking at me?’ I was like, ‘Well, because you kind of suck!'” Jenn said Us.
Devin, for his part, has not yet commented after the finale, saying only that he told Jenn “unfortunately too late” that his feelings for her had changed after filming wrapped in May.
“I just couldn’t have done what you did in that position,” Jenn replied. “When I love something, I cherish it and I don’t throw it away the next day. I hope you find it, whatever it is, wherever it is on your personal journey, I hope you get there one day.”
While she continues to heal, Jenn will go to the ballroom with her partner Sascha Farber.
“Dancing is something I have always wanted to learn, so this new era is perfect for me and I am really looking forward to it,” she concluded.
