Jeremy Renner is ready to part with his Hollywood Hills home, 12 years after moving in.
The actor put his 9,000-square-foot home up for sale for $12.9 million after initially purchasing it for $4 million in 2012. According to the Wall Street Journal, Renner spent $5.5 million on renovations that included doubling the size of the home, leveling the sloping lot and adding a freestanding recording studio.
Renner has openly stated in the past his intention to hold on to the property, stating that he would never have undertaken the extensive renovation of a house if he had planned to move out.
“I installed a huge solar panel package, one of the biggest in LA,” he wrote on Tumblr many years ago. “You would never do that on a house you’re trying to sell because it takes four or five years to recoup the investment. I wouldn’t have built a huge lagoon with a diving board and waterfall like the ones people built for the San Diego Zoo. That’s a little too radical for some buyers, but I’m building a house that I’m going to live in for the rest of my life. It’s about my tastes and desires.”

Renner’s remodel of the home perfectly blends the style of a modern Zen sanctuary with the home’s mid-century roots. Although he loves the house, he told the Wall Street Journal in August, he wants to downsize while he continues to focus on his recovery from his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023.
“I kind of have to move on to other things,” he told the outlet. The “Mayor of Kingstown” star has listed the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home for sale at The Beverly Hills Estates.
The home’s pebble-paved pathway surrounded by greenery leads to a stone staircase and large double glass doors that open into the spacious open-plan home with indoor/outdoor living areas.
As soon as guests enter the house, they are immediately greeted by the luxurious living room, which has a unique look thanks to its high, angular ceilings with wood paneling and beams. The room features brown tiled floors, a wall with mirrors on one side and a fireplace on the other, and a unique round light fixture.
The tiled floors continue in the formal dining room, which is visible from the living room due to the home’s open floor plan. The space features textured beige wallpaper on one wall, silver lace panels on the other, and floor-to-ceiling windows on the back wall with picturesque garden views.
On the other side of the living room are the kitchen and family room. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with black cabinets and two kitchen islands with gray marble tops. One of the kitchen islands also serves as a breakfast nook, with a cushioned bench at the back.

In addition to tons of counter and storage space, the kitchen also features a full-size refrigerator, double oven, smaller beverage fridge, and large sink, not to mention a huge skylight that provides plenty of natural light.
Attached to the kitchen is the living room, which offers a second, less formal dining area. The space features the same brown tile flooring as all of the common areas, as well as a fireplace and access to the backyard through a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door.
One of the biggest highlights of the home is the bar, which is accessible from both inside the home and from the covered patio in the backyard, further enhancing the seamless transition between the home’s indoor and outdoor spaces.
The communal areas on the ground floor are rounded off by a third living room with a TV and pool table directly outside on the terrace. Access is through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that give the impression of being in the room.
Elsewhere in the home is the spacious master bedroom. The room features a peaked ceiling, a chandelier in the center of the room, and a private balcony that wraps around the entire space.
The room, like the rest of the house, is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows.

In addition, the master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a large bathroom with a bathtub, separate dressing area, shower and two sinks.
The lower level features a home theater with a large screen TV, layered seating, and large bean bags. The space also opens to the backyard.
Also on the lower level is one of the main house’s four remaining bedrooms. The room features grey walls, a double bed and direct access to the lawn courtyard through large glass doors that also let in plenty of natural light.
The remaining three bedrooms each have their own balcony. Two of the bedrooms are quite similar and have a double bed in the middle and large windows, while the other has a bunk bed.
In addition to the amenities in the main house, there are also two freestanding buildings on the property, one of which is a guest house and the other is a recording studio that was added during the Avengers: Endgame star’s remodel.
Tucked away in a corner of the backyard, the guest house offers the same indoor-outdoor feel as the main house, consisting of a bedroom and bathroom, as well as a lovely outdoor seating area with a bench and table made from tree bark.

While Renner used the second building as a recording studio, equipping it with the best recording equipment and various instruments, the space could also be used as an office space. The room has its own patio area with lounge chairs and plenty of seating.
Just steps from the home’s family room and indoor/outdoor bar is the covered outdoor seating area with plenty of room for guests as well as an outdoor dining area.

The garden also features a large swimming pool, partially bridged, two waterfalls and a hot tub surrounded by resort-style loungers and umbrellas.
Another highlight of the backyard is the large lawn area, which is accessed via a long staircase down from the pool and spa area. Not only does the lawn area offer plenty of greenery and space to run around, but it also features a fire pit where guests can gather and enjoy the outdoors.
