Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh were both motivated after the New York Jets took a 14-0 lead over the New England Patriots in the second quarter of their “Thursday Night Football” game.

However, it seemed that Rodgers thought his head coach was a bit to excited after Breece Hall’s touchdown run.

Rodgers was happy to briefly shake Saleh’s hand. But then his head coach hugged him, and Rodgers appeared to push his coach away (as seen in a video captured from the Amazon Prime broadcast).

Rodgers followed his armbar with an icy glare at Saleh, putting the cherry on top of the most embarrassing moment of TNF’s first half.

Saleh commented on the exchange when asked about it during his post-match press conference.

“One of the things we talked about was giving the defense a two-point lead,” Saleh said. “And it was a two-point lead.”

“I guess he just wanted to see something on defense,” Saleh added with a laugh. “He just reminded me it was a two-point lead.”

Rodgers confirmed that the two-point lead was the subject of the argument. He also said that Saleh’s hug surprised him.

“He’s not a big hugger,” Rodgers told reporters. “I didn’t know he wanted to hug me.”

It seems like the interaction between Saleh and Rodgers was much ado about nothing.

Saleh seemed amused that the moment had garnered so much attention. Or maybe he was just happy that his quarterback completed 27 of 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns, by far his best performance with the Jets.

New York enters a mini-bye with a 2-1 record after crushing the Patriots 24-3, something Saleh and Rodgers can be happy with after Rodgers’ first season in New York ended in disaster.
