Jodie Foster just won her first Emmy!

Jodie Foster wins an Emmy for the first time!

The legendary actress won her first Emmy for her role as Detective Liz Danvers in the crime drama True Detective: Nightland.

Before receiving her speech, Foster kissed her wife Alexandra Hedison.

“This is an incredibly emotional moment for me because True Detective Nightland was such a magical experience, and it all comes from above,” she said, praising writer-director Issa Lopez, the crew and her co-star Kali Reis. “And especially the indigenous people, the Inupiat and Inuit of northern Alaska. They just told us their stories and allowed us to listen, and that was a blessing. It was love, love, love, and when you feel that, something amazing happens that is deep and wonderful and older than this place and this time.”

She was also nominated as a producer of the show. Her co-star Kali Ries was also nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Foster has previously won two Oscars from five nominations, won three Golden Globes and was nominated for two Primetime Emmys, one for directing Orange in the new blackand one for the production of the television film The Baby DanceThis year she was also named producer of True Detective.
