Jodie Foster is officially a Primetime Emmy Award winner. On Sunday night, she received her first Emmy win for her work in True Detective: Nightland.




Foster is a very accomplished performer who has won several Oscars, among other notable awards, but has yet to win a Primetime Emmy Award. She has received Emmy nominations in her career, but this is her first official win. She received her first nomination in 1999 for her work in the television movie The Baby Danceand she was nominated for a directing Emmy in 2014 for Orange is the new black.

With True Detective: NightlandFoster was in the running for the Emmy against Brie Larson (Chemistry lessons), Juno Temple (Fargo), Sofia Vergara (Griselda) and Naomi Watts (Feud: Capotve vs. The Swans).
