Joe Burrow: Don’t panic, we’ve seen this before

Joe Burrow: Don’t panic, we’ve seen this before

There are two teams in the AFC North with a 0-2 record, and they are comfortable with that position in very different ways.

The Ravens have lost their first two games of a season for the first time since 2015, while the Bengals, with quarterback Joe Burrow on the roster, are 0-2 for the fourth time in five seasons. That streak includes the 2022 season, which ended with a trip to the AFC Championship Game, and Burrow had a history of strong comebacks in mind as he spoke to reporters about his mindset ahead of a Week 3 game against the Commanders.

“I wouldn’t say I’m frustrated right now. I was frustrated on Sunday,” Burrow said, via the team’s website. “We have to focus on getting better every day through our practice and go out there and execute when we need to execute on Monday, the rest will take care of itself. We’re in a good spot. We’ve been here before. We’re don’t panic. We are focused on winning and getting better every day.”

After the Commander game, the Bengals now have to travel to the Panthers, so the schedule gives them a chance to quickly get their mishaps from the first two weeks of the season under control. Anything less will make it harder to avoid the panic that keeps Burrow at bay in Week 3.
