Jordan Love was injured in the final seconds as the Eagles defeated the Packers in the first NFL game in South America

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love suffered an injury in the final seconds of his team’s 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil on Friday.

On the second-to-last play of the game, when the Packers were still in their own territory and hoping for a miracle to win the game, Love’s legs were grabbed by Eagles defenders.

At that moment, he threw the ball to running back Josh Jacobs and fell down.

But after the game, Love was rolling in pain and needed help leaving the field.

Love, in his second year as a full-time starter, threw for 260 yards with two touchdowns and an interception before his injury and put the Packers in positions to take the lead several times late in the game.

But Love failed to score a touchdown on the Packers’ final five drives, and he only managed one field goal in the final 27 minutes of the game.

Love entered his second season with high expectations after leading the Packers to a playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys last season. Love threw for 4,159 yards with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2023, then 466 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions in two playoff games.

If he’s out for an extended period, the Packers will have to call on Willis to step in. The team’s next three games are against the Colts, Titans and Vikings – all teams that didn’t make the playoffs last season. But their schedule gets tougher starting in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Eagles are now undefeated in Brazil, having won the first NFL game in South America.

Saquon Barkley was the best player for Philadelphia, scoring three touchdowns and 132 yards in his debut for the Eagles. Barkley rebounded after losing five yards in his very first game for the Eagles after slipping on a throw.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for 278 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and also had a fumble after a failed exchange with new center Cameron Jurgens, who replaced Jason Kelce after his retirement this year.

Jurgens had several bad snaps in the game and the Eagles almost lost a fumble at the goal line in the final minute.
