Justin Timberlake was sentenced to community service on Friday after pleading guilty to a lesser offense in a drunken driving case in the Hamptons.
The 43-year-old “SexyBack” crooner pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of driving under the influence of alcohol rather than the more serious offense of driving under the influence of alcohol in Sag Harbor Village Court on Friday morning.
Judge Carl Irace sentenced the pop star to community service and ordered him to make a public statement, which Timberlake was scheduled to read shortly after the hearing on Friday.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney insisted that the NSYNC star received no special treatment, noting that this was a plea deal that had been offered in other cases.
Timberlake was pulled over in the early hours of June 18 after allegedly ignoring a stop sign and leaving his lane, and then allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer test three times.
