Kamala Harris hosts largest campaign rally at Detroit Metro Airport

DETROIT – Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Governor Tim Walz visited Michigan on Wednesday for a rally at Metro Detroit Airport.

“Michigan, this has been a big week,” Harris said. “On Monday, I was officially inaugurated as President of the United States. And yesterday, I announced my running mate for this campaign, Tim Walz.”

The rally took place in an airport hangar and attracted thousands of supporters.

“I’ve been told this is the biggest rally of the campaign,” Walz said.

During the rally, Harris told the crowd that she has a lot at stake this November and is ready to fight for victory.

“When we fight, we win,” Harris said.

The event featured numerous Democratic speakers, including DNC Chairman Jamie Harrison, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, UAW President Shawn Fain and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Each speaker sharply criticized his opponent, Donald Trump, and praised what a Harris-Walz administration could do for Michigan.

Walz used the opportunity to introduce himself to Michigan voters.

“I had the privilege of teaching high school social studies and coaching football,” Walz said.

Harris travels to Wayne on Thursday afternoon (August 8) for a UAW event.
