After completing chemotherapy, Kate Middleton plans to resume her royal duties. Kensington Palace released a new video on social media on Monday, providing an update on the Princess of Wales’ health. Middleton originally announced her cancer diagnosis in March.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Middleton said in a short film by Will Warr. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and unknown paths. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for anyone, especially those closest to you.”

“Although I have completed chemotherapy, my road to healing and full recovery is a long one and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” continued the Princess of Wales. “However, I am looking forward to returning to work and undertaking a few more public engagements when I can in the coming months.”

Middleton also thanked the public for their support during her battle with cancer and offered her own advice to those affected.

“I have been truly impressed by the kindness, compassion and concern shown by everyone,” she added. “To all of you continuing your own cancer journey, I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of the darkness can come light, so let that light shine brightly.”

In June, Middleton made her first public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis, appearing with her family at Trooping the Colour.

The following month, the Princess attended the Wimbledon men’s final, where she presented a trophy to Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz. For the occasion, Middleton chose a purple dress by Safiyaa and a checked bow tie – a nod to her patronage of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, a title she has held since 2016.
