Taiwanese distillery wins the main prize in Tokyo four times in six years
TAIPEI, 13 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Kavalan Distillery has once again received top honors at the 2024 Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC). Japan.
This year, the “Kavalan Distillery Reserve Peated Malt Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky” was awarded “Best of the Best Single Malt Whisky of 2024”. This is the fourth time in six years that the Taiwanese distillery has received this award.

In addition to the Distillery Reserve Peated Malt, two other whiskies, Kavalan Classic Single Malt Whisky and Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky, have won gold medals three years in a row. This means that all three varieties will be inducted into the TWSC’s prestigious Hall of Fame.
In total, Kavalan secured 13 gold medals, including two “Superior Golds” in Tokyo.
To date, Kavalan has collected an impressive 903 gold medals in international competitions.
The Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition, launched in 2019, is considered Asia premier whisky competition that attracts participants from leading whisky producing countries, including Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Canada, IndiaAnd Taiwan.
