Robert F Kennedy Jr denied allegations of sexting with New York Magazine’s Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi who was suspended because of the “affair.” A spokesman for Kennedy’s office said Kennedy met Olivia Nuzzi only once for an interview she requested, which earned her a defamatory article.
Nuzzi, 31, did not name Kennedy Jr. but acknowledged that some conversations between her and a former subject of reporting became personal earlier this year. She specified that the relationship was not physical and was limited to conversations only. “During this time, I did not report directly on the individual or use him as a source. The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to avoid the appearance of a conflict. I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I have disappointed, especially my colleagues in New York,” Nuzzi said.
Although Nuzzi did not mention Kennedy’s name, Status, which broke the news, confirmed that the 70-year-old Kennedy is the same man who is now on Donald Trump’s team after Trump dropped his own independent presidential campaign.
What Nuzzi wrote about Kennedy
In November 2023, Nuzzi wrote a profile of Kennedy Jr. when he was running for president. Nuzzi said the election would be a three-way race — Trump, Biden and Kennedy vying for the top job. She said the establishment press had been reluctant to portray Kennedy as a serious candidate because Kennedy was an anti-vaccine campaigner.

Following Olivia Nuzzi’s revelation, the 31-year-old began trending on X as social media users noted that both Nuzzi and Laura Loomer are 31 years old. Laura Loomer was accused of having an affair with Donald Trump, which she denied. “It’s been a great week for 31-year-old women you could have sworn were older with Olivia Nuzzi and Laura Loomer,” one post read.
