Kung Fu Thai & Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas expands its offering with Spicy

Las Vegas, Aug. 21, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Las Vegas, Nevada —

Kung Fu Thai & Chinese Restaurant, the oldest and most authentic Thai restaurant in Las Vegas, offers its guests the signature Thai summer appetizer, the spicy seafood salad, for lunch and dinner. According to Alan Wong, general manager of Kung Fu, the Vegas restaurant decided to add the Thai seafood salad to its menu as part of management’s efforts to introduce dishes with natural health benefits, while also choosing the right seafood that is naturally sustainable and serving only those dishes to its guests.

Thai Spicy Seafood Salad is made with nutritious lemongrass and Thai chili paste, which contains bioactive compounds, carotenoids, capsaicinoids and flavonoids, which are excellent antioxidants for the body. The chef then mixes in freshly squeezed lime juice, Southeast Asian fish sauce, freshly ground Thai chili peppers, as well as white shrimp, scallops, squid and green-lipped mussels, mixed with diced carrots, red onions and cilantro, all on a bed of fresh iceberg lettuce.

However, on their menu, the seafood has always been separated and presented as separate dishes, such as: Spicy Thai Prawn Salad, Spicy Thai Squid Salad, with the Green-lipped Mussel being the only exception. “We have never had a request from our customers to combine all three seafood in a single dish,” said Wong, general manager of Kung Fu Plaza Restaurant. “Thai cuisine diners usually prefer homogenous seafood in their salads, Thai Prawn Salad, Spicy Squid Salad, etc.” Due to the impact of inflation on food costs and prices, they decided to try something different and combine the seafood ingredients in a single dish, eliminating the need for their diners to order separate salad dishes. If one person wants shrimp salad and the other wants squid salad, the couple or family only needs to order one salad dish to satisfy the whole group.

“Seafood has long been known for its high content of high-quality protein and essential vitamins, iron and other minerals such as selenium, potassium, zinc and iodine, not to mention the heart-healthy omega-3 fats DHA and EPA,” says Wong. “Seafood has long been a staple in Thailand and a major source of nutrition for Thai people. Given Thailand’s geographical location between the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, which opens to the Indian Ocean, Thai people have long enjoyed various natural seafood resources in the region, with shrimp being the most prevalent.”
