Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers live game thread

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers live game thread

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The Las Vegas Raiders will play against the Carolina Panthers in the safe environment of Allegiant Stadium for the first time in the 2024 season.

Remember the Rule of Five. The game is over if the Las Vegas Raiders win that crucial statistical battle. For those who don’t remember, it has to do with sacks and turnovers. If the Raiders have three sacks and allow two, they’re plus-one. They’re plus-three if they have four turnovers and allow just one. That would give them a plus-four for the day. You want to be plus-five every game. On average, teams that meet the Rule of Five win 91 percent of their NFL games.

The Raiders are in top form after a surprise win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 (26-23). The Silver and Black defense dominated one of the NFL’s best offenses, top to bottom.

Offensively, the Raiders want to improve their running performance than in the first two games of the season. Running backs Zamir White and Alex Mattison will be used frequently against the Panthers.

The Panthers are one of the teams that have struggled the most this season, but the Raiders are approaching them like any other opponent. The Panthers benched second-year quarterback Bryce Young, a first-round pick, for the experienced Andy Dalton.
