MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Middle District Attorney’s Office of Alabama has announced that all three defendants in a Gas station robbery in December 2022 have since been convicted.

The third and final defendant was Marquis Shawn McKeithen, 33, of Montgomery, who was sentenced last week to 141 months in prison.

This follows the sentences for Kallisa Ann Mendenhall, 27, of Tyler, and Jon’derius Lashon Scott, 21, of Montgomery. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Mendenhall was sentenced to 114 months in prison on October 19, 2023, and Scott received 94 months on July 13, 2023.

The Justice Department said all three defendants had previously pleaded guilty to federal charges of disrupting interstate commerce by robbery and displaying a firearm during a violent crime.

Evidence indicates that all three were armed when they robbed a gas station on US 331 in Montgomery County on December 1, 2022. According to reports from the time, the station was the Legrande Star gas station.

According to prosecutors, Scott watched the door with his gun drawn while McKeithen jumped over the counter, grabbed the clerk and put his gun to her head. According to the Justice Department, Mendenhall stayed on the other side of the counter and pointed her gun at the clerk. They took money from the register and then drove away.

McKeithen’s conviction mirrors another, unrelated charge: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. This stems from a March 2022 arrest in Shelby County, where it was discovered that McKeithen was prohibited from possessing a gun due to a prior felony conviction.
