It’s never too late in the season to enjoy some Sugar-honey iced tea — especially when served by LatticeFresh off the release of her third studio album, the Grammy-nominated Georgia rapper unveils her first-ever North American headlining tour this week, stopping at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on November 4, with Mariah the Scientist and Karrahbooo as opening acts. Latto brings a taste of the South to the rest of the country, as the “Big Mama” and “Georgia Peach” artist chats about the record’s mouthwatering title: “When I met and worked with (producers) Pooh (Beatz) and (Go) Grizz(ly), everything just felt South… One day, shortly after we cut ‘Put It on Da Floor’, I just walked into the studio and said, ‘Sugar-honey iced tea is the name of the album,” she says Billboard for a cover story. “People try to be messy and think it’s a reaction to something. I promise you, this is before all that shit. This is something that just felt Southern to me. Where I’m from, we say, ‘I’m the iced tea with sugar and honey!'” Drink up.
