Lil Tay’s account posts disturbing messages, claims there is “devastating news” about Internet personality: “Pray”

A year after Lil Tay’s social media accounts were hacked following a meaningless death notice, the 17-year-old’s pages are said to contain “devastating news” about her.

On Wednesday (September 11), the Instagram and X accounts of Tay, née Claire Hope, posted several updates alluding to the “Sucker 4 Green” artist being in danger.

“(W)e have devastating news regarding Tay,” read a message shared on her X account this morning.

Another post shared in the afternoon said: “Please pray for Tay. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available.”

While there has been no further update, a statement was posted on Lil Tay’s Instagram page last August claiming that she and her older half-brother Jason Tian had died. It was later clarified via TMZ that Tay’s Instagram account was “compromised by a third party and used to spread distressing misinformation and rumors” about her and Jason.

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I am completely heartbroken and struggling to find the right words,” said the statement attributed to Tay.

Following the hack, Tay regained access to her Instagram but blamed her father, Christopher Hope, and her alleged former manager, Harry Tsang, for the incident. The latter, however, pointed the finger at Tsang, who denied involvement in the hack.

“He contacted every publication imaginable to accuse me of hacking Tay’s page to fake her death while simultaneously selling the fraudulent Lil Tay cryptocurrency,” Tsang Tsang accused in a statement via Lil Tay’s PR department.

In a Rolling Stone In an interview last November, Tay sided with her brother, saying, “There will always be conspiracy theories. If you want to come up with conspiracy theories, I can’t stop you.”
