Linda Ronstadt criticizes Trump and supports Harris in scathing letter

Taylor Swift isn’t the only famous cat lady to support Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz. In a letter posted to Instagram on Wednesday night (September 11), Linda Ronstadt expressed her support for the pair, but not before launching into a scathing tirade against former president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who is holding a rally on Thursday (September 12) at a hall named after the legendary singer in Tucson, Arizona.

“It saddens me that the former president is bringing his hate show to Tucson, a city with deep Mexican-American roots and a cheerful, tolerant spirit,” wrote Ronstadt, who included a photo of herself holding a kitten.

“I don’t just condemn his toxic policies, his hatred of women, immigrants and people of color, his criminality, dishonesty and ignorance – although there’s nothing wrong with those either,” continued the president, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. “For me, it comes down to this: In Nogales and across the southern border, the Trump administration systematically tore apart migrant families seeking asylum. By separating families, thousands of young children and babies were orphaned and their desperate mothers and fathers were brutalized. It remains a humanitarian disaster that meets the criteria for torture, according to Physicians for Human Rights.”

Ronstadt, whose father was of Mexican descent, goes further and attacks Trump sharply, concluding by saying: “Trump warned about rapists from Mexico during his first presidential campaign. I’m worried about how to keep the rapist out of the White House.”

But she wasn’t done yet. She also added a pointed addendum aimed at Trump’s running mate, Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance: “I raised two adopted children in Tucson as a single mother. They are both grown and live in their own homes. I live with a cat. Am I half a childless cat lady because I’m unmarried and haven’t given birth to my children? Call me what you want, but this cat lady will proudly vote for @kamalaharris and @timwalz in November.”
