The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline at self-dispensing stations in Los Angeles County fell one-tenth of a cent to $4.563 on Monday, a day after the price had already fallen two-tenths of a cent earlier.
The average price is 4.2 cents lower than a week ago, 19.3 cents lower than a month ago and 65.3 cents lower than a year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The price has fallen by $1.931 since its record high of $6.494 on October 5, 2022.
The average price in Orange County fell two-tenths of a cent to $4.483, a day after rising half a cent. That’s 3.7 cents less than a week ago, 18.7 cents less than a month ago, and 68.7 cents less than a year ago. The average price in Orange County has fallen $1.976 since rising to a record high of $6.459 on October 5, 2022.
The national average price fell by two-tenths of a cent to $3.443 for the 16th consecutive day.
That’s 2.9 cents less than a week ago, 9.5 cents less than a month ago, and 40.3 cents less than a year ago. The national average price has fallen $1,573 since its record high of $5,016 on June 14, 2022.
“As Tropical Storm Debby moves along the I-95 corridor and reaches the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the threat to Gulf Coast oil production and refining has passed,” said Andrew Gross, national public relations manager for AAA. “But tensions in the Middle East and some economic uncertainty abroad could mitigate a decline in oil prices.”
