Live score Liverpool – Nottingham Forest: 0:0

Salah is getting sharper

The Egyptian king is now in top form and has finally shaken off Alex Moreno in the penalty area.

A few quick cuts lead to a hard shot, but Sels is not deterred and blocks the attempt in the 52nd minute.

Halftime – Liverpool 0:0 Nottingham Forest

Forest have not yet had a single shot on goal and have only had 34% possession.

Mohamed Salah was busy but not in top form and Matz Sels was otherwise there for the guests.

Anfield looks ready for it and Liverpool are in full control, apart from the scoresheet, but this is an important qualification.

The Tricky Trees have two players with yellow cards in Alex Moreno and Ryan Yates, with the latter always getting on each other’s nerves.

Reds prepare for Olimpico

Virgil van Dijk is standing directly behind Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels and there is traffic in front of him too.

Forest try to move VVD as Trent Alexander-Arnold tries to score the corner, Sels saves it off the line.

Liverpool push for more chances and Sels makes a great save to prevent a goalless draw in the 37th minute.

Slow start finally brings opportunities

The first 20 minutes were dark and tense, but here are a few moments.

Murillo plays Morgan Gibbs-White into the box. His shot goes wide of the far post and beats Alisson Becker, but neither the goal line nor the assistant referee’s flag.

At the other end, Alexis Mac Allister sends Diogo Jota into play, but he can’t do much with a difficult but dangerous chance.

Still goalless, 27′.

Prediction Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest

That’s certainly too much for Forest’s plans to go a long season without defeat. They might pose a threat in front of goal a few times and even break down the Reds’ perfect defence, but an early goal would be crucial for both sides. Slots Liverpool seem to be able to control every game. At Anfield? They should be even stronger. Liverpool 3-1 Forest.
