Local business owner talks about Huntsville Restaurant Week

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama (WHNT) – As Huntsville grows, comes many new eateries, and if there’s a place you’ve always wanted to try, now is the time.

“Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to either discover a brand new restaurant you haven’t been to before or return to a restaurant that may deserve a second chance,” said Stephanie Kennedy-Mell.

This week marks the city’s 12th annual Restaurant Week, which means venues across the city are partnering to offer their best menus at discounted prices.

“We have customers who may be looking for an opportunity to come in and try something,” Kennedy-Mell said. “There are those people who think, ‘Oh my gosh, restaurant week… I’m going to be able to try something, and it’s at a great price…’ and then we can get them excited.”

Kennedy-Mell is co-owner of Church Street Hospitality and Restaurants and has some advice from the owner’s perspective:

“Revisit that restaurant where you may not have had the best experience and go back this week,” she said. “Check it out. Try it. Give them a second chance.”

Kennedy-Mell said a second chance could make all the difference.

“Sometimes I think small businesses don’t get a second chance, but it’s worth it,” she said. “These people put their heart and soul into these businesses.”

Jennifer Moore, executive director of the Huntsville-Madison County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, says they look forward to this week because they have the opportunity to showcase the city and all the great food it has to offer.

“Over 77 restaurants are participating in Restaurant Week and no matter what type of food you like, there should be something for everyone,” Moore said.

This week offers you a great opportunity to expand your plate and pamper your palate.
