LSU Football loses cornerback Zy Alexander as injuries continue to mount

The LSU football game will be plagued by injury misfortune again during this game against UCLA. There was already a massive injury scare when Emery Jones Jr. was out with an ankle injury but returned to the game after being re-bandaged.

On defense, the LSU football team just suffered what appears to be a more serious injury to one of its core players. Zy Alexander was hit hard and was on the sideline after a play in the second quarter. The Tigers’ medical staff took Alexander to the medical tent, but it appears he was much worse, as he has since been sent to the locker room.

Losing Zy Alexander for the game or even longer would be a huge blow to the LSU football team’s defense. Alexander returned just two weeks ago against Nicholls State and has been one of LSU’s best players since his return, intercepting a pass from LaNorris Sellers last weekend.

JK Johnson has since stepped in as Ashton Stamps’ counterpart, while Alexander will continue to be monitored. If Johnson doesn’t play well or LSU gets injured again, the next man up would be either PJ Woodland or Sage Ryan, who was recently reinstated as a safety.

The good news for the defense is that Bradyn Swinson is in top form after his three-sack game last weekend and has two sacks and a forced fumble so far this game.
