LSU vs. Nicholls: Channel today, time, TV schedule, streaming info

LSU vs. Nicholls: Channel today, time, TV schedule, streaming info

For the third time in as many years, LSU’s football season began with a depressing loss on neutral ground. The most recent defeat came last Monday, 27-20, against No. 14 USC in Las Vegas.

Fortunately, the Tigers have an excellent chance to recover.

Although the break is incredibly short, coming just five days after the loss to the Trojans, coach Brian Kelly’s team will look to earn their first win of the 2024 season when they face Nicholls inside the hallowed walls of Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Although LSU slipped to 19th in the US LBM Coaches Poll, the team impressed in many areas in its first game of the season. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns. A large group of receivers were at their best, led by Kyren Lacy with 94 yards and a touchdown. After a puzzlingly weak sophomore season, Harold Perkins had the team’s most tackles with eight, while teammate Sai’vion Jones recorded two sacks. Although the Tigers’ defense slacked in the final minutes, it showed overall signs of progress under new defensive coordinator Blake Baker.

LSU should fare better against Nicholls than it did against USC. The Colonels, who were 6-5 last season, lost their season opener 25-17 to Louisiana Tech last Saturday. It will be the Tigers’ first game against Nicholls, which is only about 60 miles from the school’s Baton Rouge campus. This weekend’s game will be the Colonels’ fourth against an SEC school, a streak that includes close losses to Georgia in 2016 (26-24) and Texas A&M in 2017 (24-14).
