Location, elevation and renovation are three reasons why a house on the “most beautiful street in the world” recently sold for over $1 million.

The house on North Grandview Drive in Peoria Heights is “one of only six riverfront homes on Grandview Drive with a private river view surrounded by parkland,” the listing on Zillow.com states. Several rooms offer year-round views of the Illinois River.

The house boasts a “complete renovation in 2014, from top to bottom.” The exterior of the house is made of “rare Georgian marble, known for its beauty and hardness.”

The three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home with a “unique lot and location” was built in 1967. The 3,862-square-foot home sits on a 0.83-acre lot near a Pimiteoui Trailhead. The home was listed with Keller Williams Premier Realty and sold on August 9 for $1.38 million.
