The MBTA Transit Police do not suspect any foul play, the department said in a statement.
A man fell onto the tracks at Park Street Station on Saturday and died, MBTA Transit Police said.
The man, whose identity has not been publicly released, fell onto the tracks on the station’s southbound platform around noon Saturday, MBTA police said. The statement said the victim was “unsteady on his feet” and “stumbled” into the pit. He landed on the live power rail, the statement said. Authorities say he died instantly at the scene of the accident.
Shuttle buses temporarily replaced Red Line service and all Green Line trains bypassed Park Street while authorities assessed and investigated the situation, the MBTA said on social media.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim may have been impaired or intoxicated, the MBTA said. Authorities do not suspect foul play. A thorough investigation is currently underway, the MBTA Transit Police said.
