James Hailey, 43, was killed in the shootinga spokesman for the Monmouth County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday, August 29. Long Branch police arrived at the station platform at approximately 7:39 p.m. on Monday, August 26.
Officers found Hailey and took him to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m.

Investigators have not released any information about what led to the shooting. NJ Transit reported no delays at the station.
