Man released on bail after attack in Summit Metro Park

A 32-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Summit Metro Park in Akron has been released from Summit County Jail on bail, Beacon Journal news partner News 5 reports.

Issac Armour was released on bail without posting any money on Thursday. An Akron Municipal Court judge set a bond that allowed Armour to stay out of jail.

With a signature bond, “the defendant must sign an undertaking to appear in court for trial. If he fails to do so, a fine may be issued against him. However, depositing cash or other assets with the court is not required,” according to US Legal Inc.

The recent news of his release has left the 33-year-old alleged victim feeling fear, anger and frustration, News 5 reported.

“I think I’m still a little numb from all of this. It’s a little scary to think that we’re just out there living together,” she told News 5.

Akron officers and a park ranger responded to a 911 call around 9:17 a.m. Monday morning from the 1100 block of Cuyahoga Street near a hiking trail in Cascade Valley Metro Park, where a woman was screaming for help.

When officers arrived and spoke to the 33-year-old victim, who police said was visibly shaken, she told officers that she had just come out of the restroom when an unknown man grabbed her from behind and began to attack her.

According to police, three Good Samaritan women heard the victim screaming for help and rushed to her aid. During the attack, one of the women reportedly hit the suspect on the head with a rock and helped pull the victim away from the attacker.
