Man shot in Copeland Park, Tampa police search for suspect

A man was shot dead in Copeland Park in Tampa on Friday evening. Investigators are now searching for the suspect.

Tampa police said officers were called to the park at 11001 North 15th Street around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports that someone had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found a black man, believed to be in his early 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities said he was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries.

The TPD believed that there may have been a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect prior to the fatal shooting, which escalated into physical violence.

According to officials, the suspect is a thin, bald black man who rode away on his bicycle after the incident.
