· Mary Gibbons was Volunteer of the Week at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.

· There will be a celebration of life for Steve “Pigeon” Olsena popular and widely admired coach who was at Manatee High School for 30 years and recently passed away at the age of 82. The MHS Athletic Hall of Honor member coached the Hurricanes at various times from 1966 to 1995 in several sports – track, cross country, football, basketball and softball.
Olsen also won numerous awards in breeding and showing championship pigeons from coast to coast, hence the nickname.
