Marketing firm Brasco takes over PR shop Circle City Strategy

RALEIGH, NC: Creative marketing agency Brasco has acquired PR consultancy Circle City Strategy, effective August 1.

The deal will add a PR and strategic communications function to the agency, creating a full-service shop offering services in brand development, marketing strategy, digital execution and marketing automation, advertising and media, website design and development, and creative support, Brasco said in a statement.

As part of the acquisition, the Circle City Strategy brand will be fully integrated into the Brasco name. Greg Behr, CEO and founder of Circle City, will serve as senior director of PR and strategic communications at Brasco.

Behr, previously Circle City’s only employee, will now lead the newly formed division and will focus on building successful PR campaigns with strategic direction, compelling messaging and storytelling, and consistent execution supported by technology, according to the agency.

There were no customer conflicts as a result of the acquisition. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Prior to Circle City, Behr served as a strategic advisor at RLF Communications in Greensboro, North Carolina, following the company’s acquisition of GBW Strategies in January. Behr co-founded GBW Strategies, a boutique public relations agency based in Raleigh, in 2008.

Before GBW, Behr headed PR activities at Capstrat, taken over by Ketchum in 2013.

Circle City Strategy was founded in January and specializes in working with festivals, conventions and community builders, according to Behr’s LinkedIn profile.

The deal with Brasco is Behr’s second acquisition deal this year.

Brasco is a marketing and communications agency with offices throughout North Carolina, in Raleigh, Wilmington and Pittsboro. Founded in 2008, the company’s clients include Aloft Hotels, The Dix Park Conservatory and Campbell Law School, according to the company’s website.
