Marvin Harrison scores two touchdowns, Cardinals lead 24-3 against Rams at halftime

After recording just one catch for 4 yards on three attempts last week, there has been a lot of talk about rookie receiver Marvin Harrison.

He put an end to that talk early in Sunday’s game against the Rams.

Arizona leads Los Angeles 24-3 at halftime thanks to a strong first-half performance from Harrison and quarterback Kyler Murray.

Harrison caught four passes for 130 yards and scored two touchdowns in the first quarter alone, but didn’t catch another pass in the second quarter. He scored the first touchdown of his career on a 23-yard pass from Murray. Harrison then stretched across the goal line and caught a 60-yard touchdown on Arizona’s second possession as the club needed just one more play to score.

Murray’s third touchdown of the first half was a wild play in which the quarterback evaded several defenders in the backfield and then found the sliding Elijah Higgins in the end zone for an 18-yard touchdown.

Murray finished the first half completing 10 of 12 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran three times for 23 yards. James Conner rushed for 50 yards on nine runs.

The Rams’ offense struggled to get going, despite the team scoring a field goal early in the second quarter. Los Angeles had just six first downs and managed just 1 of 7 third downs.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 12 of 18 passes for 126 yards. Kyren Williams managed just 16 yards on nine attempts.

There is another injury concern. Cooper Kupp was forced off the field late in the second quarter with an apparent injury. He was able to get up on his own but limped off the field before cameras showed trainers examining his lower left leg. While attempting to return to the field, he was stopped.

The Cardinals kick off the second half.
