GAITHERSBURG, MD — Maryland’s third Amazon Fresh store, all located in Montgomery County, opened in Gaithersburg on August 8. The company also has two stores in Chevy Chase, at 5463 Wisconsin Ave. and 8525 Chevy Chase Lake Terrace.
“We are thrilled to open our newest Amazon Fresh grocery store here in the heart of Montgomery County. This opening invites customers in Gaithersburg to experience grocery shopping with Amazon Fresh both in-store and online. We look forward to showcasing our customers our wide selection of national brands, high-quality products and a curated selection of their favorite local produce and freshly prepared meals,” said Jim Gillespie, regional manager of Amazon Fresh, in a press release.
The Amazon Fresh store in Gaithersburg features the company’s latest store design, which debuted in Chicago and Southern California last year. Customers will find a selection of national brands, high-quality produce and proteins, as well as Amazon’s own brands such as Aplenty, Fresh Brand and 365 from Whole Foods Market at great prices, the company said.
Amazon Fresh touts itself as combining the convenience of online grocery shopping with a high-quality in-store shopping experience. Customers can choose between grocery delivery and pickup options and shop in-store with Amazon Dash Cart and Amazon One.
A grand opening celebration for customers was held on August 8. Customers can participate in a food drive to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank.
